Trismegistus is the new game by Daniele Tascini and Federico Pierlorenzi. Like Teotihuacan, this board game is published by Board & Dice. I wonder if the game in which we try our hand at being alchemists will have the same level of difficulty as the game about the Aztecs? Will we really manage to produce gold in Trismegistus, so that we have a good source of income for our board game hobby in the future? The expert board game by Vladimír Suchý, which was published by Delicious Games, quickly advanced from an insider tip to a must-have board game of the last game year. In the middle of the year the announcement was made that there would be an expansion to the board game. We had grabbed the expansion Underwater Cities – New Discoveries in Essen for SPIEL’19 and now had it on the board game table. Marco Polo II In The Service Of The Khan

With Marco Polo II – In the service of the Khan, the new edition of the well-known On the Trails of Marco Polo board game from 2015 has landed on our gaming table. Not only has the name remained almost the same, the authors Daniele Tascini and Simone Luciani have also contributed to the first part. Dennis Lohausen is again responsible for the illustrations. Whether the publisher Hans im Glück has succeeded in improving the winner of the Deutscher Spielepreis 2015 or whether Marco Polo II – In the service of the Khan is just old rice in new bowls, we try to clarify this in our review of the board game.

Cities Skylines – We build a board game city

With Cities Skylines by Rustan Håkansson, Kosmos Verlag is creating another video game as a board game. The spiritual successor to Sim City, however, is trying a different approach. Instead of playing against each other, we play cooperatively in Cities Skylines and try to let our city grow and prosper. And just like in the video game we have to take care of the problems of the city. Because even the flat, analog city has its problems with crime and the garbage that is produced. Arkham Noir

I admit it: I don’t have much experience with solo playing, but with Yves Tourigny’s Arkham Noir, the subject matter appealed to me so much that I took the step and still managed to get it on my table. In the small box there is nothing more than a few cards. It’s about Case 1: The Witch Cult Murders, in which we as investigators have to create an overall picture, which is created by playing puzzle cards. That sounds easier than it is.

Star Wars: Outer Rim from Fantasy Flight Games is again a board game with the powerful Star Wars license. As pilots, smugglers or bounty hunters you try your luck and besides credits you are looking for one thing above all else – prestige! Because only the adventurer with the most prestige will be able to watch out for all dangers in a galaxy far, far away, at a time that has long passed.
