About

Since we do not want to be anonymous authors, we would like to introduce ourselves to you. We, that are Jan and Jasmin, a board game couple from Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany.

For more than ten years we have been caught by the board game fever. Since then we spend a lot of time with our common hobby. Both of us are very fond of the internet and writing, so we soon decided to start our own blog about board games. We publish articles and reviews about all games and topics we are interested in. We also want to create a platform for other projects, like nice photos around board games, which we run under #Meepleart.

From the board game podcast Brettspiele Schön Vertönt, which portrays board games from the humorous side, our common podcast Rheingespielt has developed in the meantime, in which we talk weekly about board games and topics from the board game scene. Since 2019 we are a member of the Beeple Network, an association of bloggers, podcasters and youtubers who are involved in the topic of board games.

Our latest idea was to publish our German board game reviews of our blog www.brettspielerunde.de in English as well, to spread our enthusiasm and opinion about board games to the world. Of course we are no native speakers and therefore we are sorry for the one or other translation mismatch.

We think that board games are a great way to have a good time with friends (or even complete strangers who then become friends) and have fun. There is hardly a game that is safe from us. We like to use our brains, but we also appreciate good party games and play with our children a lot. Like every passionate board gamer, we have several groups of players with whom we enjoy our hobby in different line-ups. But the focus of our blog is more on expert games, because with time we also have become a bit more demanding. Since our collection is constantly growing, there is no shortage of new board games to fear in the long run.

Right from the start, the SPIEL in Essen was the highlight of the year and every time we dive into the action with great anticipation. Discovering new board games and also trying out older games is always nice. We are also in the comfortable position of having an excellently equipped game library right outside the door with SpieleMa. So we don’t have to buy every game ourselves and have a good overview of what games are out there. Of course it still takes a lot of time to write a detailed review of a board game. So please feel free to contact us if something goes wrong from time to time.

We hope you enjoy reading our blog. If you have any suggestions or wishes, please let us know. Of course, we are also happy to take advice if we can improve the translation.

The fastest way to reach us is by e-mail to info@brettspielerunde.de or on Twitter under @spielerunde.

Thanks a lot and see you soon Jan and Jasmin
